Artist's Description
This image of the Lemp Brewery located in St. Louis, Missouri was caputured using High Dynamic Range (HDR) . This digital process of combining the color and tone of multiple exposures to generate an enhanced composite image. I have control over the intensity of the effect, allowing for a great deal of creative license in achieving the desired results.
The Lemps were German immigrants who made their fortune as brewers and became one of St. Louis' first familes. The brewery was closed during prohibition and liquidated, but the building still stands today. Despite great wealth, the family's gloomy history is filled with tragedy, sucidies, and madness. It is believed that the Lemp Mansion, located down the street from the Brewery is haunted.
About Jane Linders
My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. Prints for sale in my Etsy shop too: http://www.etsy.com/shop/jalinde I am fascinated by the unpredictability of Polaroid transfers and I love the freedom of...

Thanks for your comment David. I just got lucky with the clouds. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

Perfect. You must have waited for those clouds to be just right.

Jane...this IS a beautiful HDR shot! I love the look of HDR, but do not know how to do it. My son lives in St. Louis so I am going to ask him to take us by this...AND maybe go to the Mansion. I"ve heard of it and the supposed hauntings. I would not have thought to take a shot of this, but you've certainly made Art from it. ;0) Thanks for your comment on my "Dust Gatherers", Jane. I surely appreciated it. ;0) Julie
