A great capture of this intriquing formation, Jane. I understand that the Los Angelos Viaduct that was responsible for the lake being drained and creating these tufa formations was closed. Are the formations still visible in the lake? It has been featured on the "Weird Natural Oddities" Home page.

Thanks for the feature. Not sure if the formations are still visible as this was captured in 2015. A lot can happen in 5 years.
